Yoga music and related books

Body Mind Elements is a group of musicians including Magnus Frykberg, Awa Manneh and Erik Jansson. A few of their Yoga/Pilates instructor friends were complaining about the music they had to work with while teaching. They said that they had to spend too much time searching for music to make up compilations to fit the dynamics of their classes.

The guys have produced four Elements for Yoga and Body Mind cds. Each is a different exploration of rhythm and ambiance. It's music that has a "warm-up, build-up, take-down, relax flow" throughout a full hour, with all songs seamlessly intertwined.

Their friends say they not only enjoy the music during practice, but it actually helps them keep track of time. It also saves them time not having to change music during class, so they can concentrate fully on their students. The band has a passion for Yoga amongst them, so it is a true pleasure to be able to bring what they hope will be a tool for use during practice for both instructors and practitioners at home. Their goal is to make really good music to serve the yoga community. They have hit their mark!

What I really liked about it is that the tracks were fresh and seamless. This is an accomplishment, as the new age genre is already packed with compilations. My students loved the music and felt as if it floated all around them. Please check them out!

Update: Awa and the band put this banner together to help you learn more about their music.
